My name is Joe Trutin
and welcome to our new campaign site.
I am currently running for State Representative for the 2nd District of
Illinois in the upcoming Democratic Primary. The 2nd District is primarily comprised of the
neighborhoods of Bridgeport, Pilsen, McKinley Park,
Back of the Yards and Little Village. You can view a
map by clicking here.
I’m known as an honest, independent thinking,
deeply dedicated person who will get things done for our community.
I have and will continue to work hard in our community.
I currently serve on the Local School Council at
Holden School of which I am also a PTA member.
I have
volunteered much of my free time to making sure that there are
programs for your youth through various sports programs available at our local parks. I
have also always volunteered much of my time along with
many of our areas local residents through various community programs such as
CAPS, Court Advocacy, Anti-Domestic Violence, Anti-Gang programs, and many, many
more. I do plan to continue working with these groups and to have the same
accessibility with everyone as I do
now.
As a State Representative, I feel to efficiently represent you; I would need
to hear from all constituents of the areas on all the pressing matters at
hand.
In today's age of communications with things such as web sites and
social networks, it is unacceptable that many people still struggle to get
in contact with those that represent them. It is important for a constituent
to be able to reach their local representative.
This is why one of my
first goals is to use the Internet and social
networks such as Facebook to
be more more constituent-friendly. I would
also open an office which many
constituents would be able use to. We no
longer live in a nine-to-five world
and the needs of our citizens in the area
extend into the evening hours. I
would also hold regular meeting that will
be open to community to hear
input. I wish to also create local volunteer
committees in the area to
assist me serving the district as well.
If elected I hope to be more than just regarded as an elected official. I believe anyone elected to office is also a public servant and needs to be a voice for their communities. Which I plan to be just that both at home and down in Springfield.
With your support and by working together, we can make great strides not just
for our area but for all of Illinois. I look forward to discussing the issues that are
important to you.
Thank you again for visiting our page and for your patience as we will be up soon.
